Alyssa joined New Court at the start of 2017. Alyssa has a considerable amount of experience as a family advocate having undertaken pupillage at 4 Paper Buildings and having been a tenant at No 5 Chambers. Alyssa has also spent a period working as in-house counsel for Shoosmiths LLP and is experienced in both Private Children and Financial Remedies as well as Chambers’ core practice area of Public Law Children work.

P (A Child)  EWCA Civ 1428 – Acting at first instance and thereafter successfully for the Respondent Father in the Court of Appeal in a complex private law children matter involving international elements and an ‘abusive’ mother, with an order for no direct contact being upheld by the Court of Appeal.
S (A Child)  EWFC B212 – Private law children case involving unknown whereabouts of Respondent birth parents. Child Arrangements Order made in client’s favour.
London Borough of Waltham Forest v AD  EWHC 1985 (Fam) case for Local Authority on behalf of the child requesting a reporting restriction in a case where the Father had killed the Mother. Guidance given by Keenan J as to procedure in such applications.
