Andrew undertakes all aspects of children matters in private and public law proceedings (representing local authorities, parents and guardians). Andrew also appears in Inherent Jurisdiction cases, Child Abduction both inside and outside the jurisdiction, Adoption, Divorce and Civil Partnerships.
Andrew has extensive experience in drafting (including pleadings, skeleton arguments, practice directions documents, threshold documents and advices) and appears at all levels of court.
Andrew has particular skill and experience in care proceedings, especially complex fact-finding and disposal hearings in respect of sexual abuse and non-accidental injury.
Andrew is New Court Chambers' resident IT expert, and is proficient in a range of IT environments/platforms having over 20 years' experience of computer systems.

The Court considered the issue as to whether the court on an application for a care order in respect of a young person aged 17 with lifelong disabilities should transfer the case to the Court of Protection to be dealt with under the Mental Capacity Act 2005 rather than the Children Act 1989.
