Practice Profile

Ranjit joined chambers in October 2009. He was educated at the School of Oriental and African Studies, part of the University of London, where he gained his Honours Degree in Theology and the Study of Religions. During his Degree, Ranjit also studied within the SOAS School of Law, researching the Legal Systems of Asia and Africa as part of his studies.

 

Ranjit completed the Graduate Diploma in Law and the Bar Vocational Course and was called to the Bar in 2007.

 

Before completing his pupillage, Ranjit worked for The Honorable Mr. Justice Singer between 2004-2005 and The Rt. Honorable Lord Phillips of Worth Matravers, the then Lord Chief Justice, from 2005-2008.

During his pupillage Ranjit completed the full range of chambers' work and has a particular interest in international child abduction work. Ranjit regularly represents Local Authority clients, parents and children in public law proceedings and has acted for a wide range of clients in ancillary relief work at all levels of complexity. He has appeared in the Family Proceedings Court, County Court and High Court, representing clients from first appointment to appeal stage.
