Julia Feely practises in all areas of Family Law, with a particular focus on matrimonial finance and private law Children Act matters.
Julia is meticulous in her preparation for cases and gives sound advice.
She frequently gives lectures at legal training events on financial remedies. Most recently, she has given talks on Interim Remedies, Maintenance Pending Suit, TOLATA applications and Tax Issues in Financial Remedies.
Prior to the Bar, Julia worked for a Magic Circle law firm and a boutique litigation firm, through which she gained broad experience of many aspects of commercial litigation, which compliments her growing practice in financial remedies.
Julia is a fluent French speaker. She lived in France for an extended period of time, and has also worked for a French law firm.
Julia has an interest in cases involving companies and complex financial information. She is regularly instructed in cases where there are disputes as to business valuations or complex elements, including trust and company structures. She also has a wide range of experience of Trusts of Land cases and applications under Schedule 1 to the Children Act 1989. She has a growing specialism in dealing with applications for enforcement and is currently instructed in two matters in the High Court.
Julia represents parents in cases concerning domestic and international arrangements for their children, including relocation cases, and has a reputation for dealing sensitively but robustly with difficult contact cases and those where there are allegations of harm. She is currently instructed on a private law Children Act matter in the Court of Appeal concerning issues of serious physical and sexual harm and intricate legal arguments on jurisdiction.

I store my case files on Microsoft Onedrive which is a cloud hosted environment based in the US.
Microsoft Onedrive relies upon a variety of legal mechanisms for its international transfer of personal data from the EU to the United States. Microsoft Onedrive is certified under the EU-US and Swiss US Privacy Shield Programs regarding the collection, use and retention of personal data and its transfer from the EU and Switzerland to the United States.
In addition to the Privacy Shield, Microsoft Onedrive also provides strong contractual guarantees around the privacy of its services and relies on the EU Model Contract Clauses to cover its international transfers of data.
I am satisfied that such transferred data is fully protected and safeguarded as required by the General Data Protection Regulation.
