James Stammers has been clerking since 1996 and is an integral part of the clerking team at New Court Chambers.
He has a comprehensive and in-depth knowledge of every member of Chambers and their practice and is responsible for the individual practice development, management and promotion of our members ensuring a high level of service is maintained.
He is responsible for the day-to-day management of the diary, fee negotiation for all members of Chambers, the billing of private and publicly funded cases as well as the supervision of the Second and Third Junior Clerks.
James has a pivotal role in the organisation of Chambers’ marketing events and assists Paul in the overall business development of Chambers.
James is praised for his friendly and approachable nature and has an excellent rapport with Instructing Solicitors and clients alike.
He is also the designated Direct Access clerk and is a qualified member of the Institute of Barristers Clerks.
When time permits, James enjoys a round of golf, going to the gym and supporting Crystal Palace FC.
