Chambers has a dedicated team with extensive experience at every level of call who can provide a practical and sensible approach to dealing with the settlement of financial disputes arising out of the breakdown of relationships, including marriage, civil partnerships and co-habitation.

With regard to financial disputes arising out of divorce or civil partnerships, our members frequently deal with cases involving complex legal issues and assets which range from the fairly modest to those involving high net worth individuals.   Chambers prides itself on its breadth and depth of experience upon which clients can rely and aims to provide continuity of representation whenever possible.

Our areas of specialisation within matrimonial or civil partnership cases include, but are not limited to:

  • Injunctions for the protection of assets
  • Cases concerning business and other complex assets such as farms
  • International assets and jurisdictional issues
  • Pre and Post Nuptial Agreements
  • Variation Applications
  • Enforcement of Orders

In respect of unmarried partners whose relationships have broken down and who have a dispute as to the ownership of property, our members regularly deal with these claims under the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996 and where children are involved, there is often an application under Schedule 1 Children Act 1989 (Financial Provision for Children).  Both types of case can be highly complex although these are matters familiar to our barristers.

Members of the team regularly present CPD and NPP accredited seminars to clients.

If you would like an informal discussion about your case, please speak to one of our clerks who will be happy to assist and advise you as to which of our barristers would best represent your client’s interests.
