New Court Recognised as Leading Set by Chambers 2027

News 15th October 2026

New Court Chambers is delighted to have been recognised once again as a leading set in the Chambers UK Bar Guide, with 15 members individually ranked for their expertise in family law.

Chambers has again ranked New Court in Family: Children, reflecting the strength and depth of our practice in public and private children law. Our members are regularly instructed in complex and sensitive cases, representing local authorities, parents, children and children’s guardians.

A particular highlight this year is the elevation of Joint Head of Chambers Christopher Poole KC to Silk. Christopher has extensive experience across the full spectrum of children law, including cases involving non-accidental injury, abuse, medical treatment and forced marriage. He is recognised for his work on behalf of local authorities in serious cases, as well as his handling of matters involving sensitive cultural and religious issues.

“Chris is an excellent advocate with a comprehensive knowledge of the law. He is calm in stressful situations and is always very well prepared in court.”

We are also delighted that Sam Wallace has been elevated to Band 1 in Family: Children, recognising his outstanding expertise in this field.

Sam is an experienced junior who regularly handles complex children law cases, including those involving serious non-accidental injuries, forced marriage, female genital mutilation, child death and allegations of abuse. He acts for a broad range of clients, including children, parents and local authorities.

“Sam provides a very client-centred service, offering advice and representation with compassion and sensitivity.”

The latest rankings recognise the breadth of expertise across New Court Chambers, with other members ranked at Bands 2, 3 and 4 in Family: Children, alongside recognition for Sally Jackson in Family: Matrimonial Finance.

These results reflect the quality of our advocacy, the specialist knowledge of our barristers and the commitment of our clerking team to providing an excellent service to those who instruct us.

We congratulate Christopher, Sam and all our ranked members on their well-deserved recognition, and thank our clients and professional colleagues for their continued support.
